The Connect platform provides full connectivity between Alviscan and the EHR system. By means of HL7 messages, patients can be accurately identified, Alviscan can select the relevant measurements, and measurement results are seamlessly stored directly in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) upon completion of the measurement protocol. Due to the use of standardized communication protocols, it does not matter which specific EHR is used by your institution, Alviscan will always be able to connect to it.
Patient demographics
Before measuring, the patient must identify him/herself on the Alviscan by means of a barcode/QR-code. The Connect platform ensures the patient is identified in a proper way and performs double-checks on patient identity, when desired.
Measurement selection
The set of measurements can be personalized for every patient to ensure reliable data and support efficient diagnosis. Based on the available appointment information, Alviscan can automatically select the measurements required for the patient measuring.
Measurement results
Alviscan guides the patient through the measurement process and collects the measured values from the different measurement devices. The measured values are transferred to the Connect platform for a fully automated export to the EHR in a standardized HL7-ORU message. For generating these messages no additional communication interface with the EHR or hospital-side message broker is required.

How can patients identify themselves at Alviscan?
Patients can identify themselves with any predefined barcode or QR code that contains at least a patientID or caseID. This can either be a digital or printed bar/QR code.
How does Alviscan integrate with our EHR system?
Our software connects to the EHR system for up-to-date patient demographics and storage of measurement results.
This integration is achieved via the standardized HL7 protocol:
- HL7-ADT or HL7-SIU (Patient demographics)
- HL7-ORU (measurement results)
Which EHR systems can integrate with Alviscan?
Alviscan is open for integration with any EHR system. We have existing integration with Epic, Chipsoft HiX, NurseIT and Dedalus Orbis. As integration is established through standardized communication, Alviscan can easily connect to other EHR systems as well.
Where is the patient data stored?
Patient data is stored the Connect platform installed on a virtual server within the healthcare organisation.
